About Stage 1 ECU Tuning

ECU performance tuning is the process of modifying the programming of a vehicles Engine Control Unit (ECU) to extract more power and torque from the engine. It is also possible to modify the ECU to improve fuel economy.

Tuning an ECU can be done in several ways, but most commonly it is done through re-flashing or chip tuning. Re-flashing is the process of loading new software onto the ECU, while chip tuning involves physically modifying the chips within the ECU.
